Seen it all!

Dear Friends of Untermyer Gardens,

Just when you think that you’ve “seen it all,” something appears to shake everything up. We called on our friend Christopher St. Lawrence to take some aerial pictures of the garden for the purpose of mapping our plant beds. Lo and behold, the photos are really quite something! Please take a look at more photos here (but remember that drones are not allowed in the garden).

Don’t miss our September concert, Summertime, featuring four top performers on Sunday, September 15, at 4:30. The event sold out last year with a wait list, so purchase tickets now, while they are available.

One visitor to the garden at Mehregan last year was Whitney Robinson, the editor of Elle Décor magazine. He was floored by what he saw and contacted us about featuring an article in the September issue. The magazine has just hit the stands, and we are most pleased. We hope that it will bring more visitors from throughout the country.

Speaking of Mehregan, the Persian festival of thanksgiving will take place on September 22 and honor Shirin Neshat, the internationally celebrated artist. Aref, the favored vocalist of the shah and considered the Frank Sinatra of Iran, will be our featured performer. This beloved and spectacular event, complete with Persian music, poetry, fire displays, and food, is not to be missed.
