Untermyer Park and Gardens are Closed Until Further Notice

Dear Friends of Untermyer Gardens,

What was unthinkable just days ago has now occurred. Untermyer Gardens is closing to the public for the time being. The decision was made by the City of Yonkers, which is closing all its parks until further notice. This is hugely disappointing but not entirely unexpected, given the governor’s recent mandates that require the full cooperation of the public. To help compensate for our shared sense of deprivation, we will look for new ways to keep you informed about our doings and to help you experience the rapid changes in the garden virtually. Be comforted to know that our gardeners will continue to care for the garden (and themselves) and that its beauty awaits our return.
