Historic Photos: McGuirk Collection
These photos come to us from the family of Mary McGuirk. She worked as a laundress in the Untermyer estate and she and her friends took these photos in the early years of the 20th century. They show the estate shortly after the gardens were built and provide the viewer with a different perspective than official photos. Many of the photos are of the staff of Greystone enjoying themselves in the gardens. We thank Mary Ann Ryan and Ann Nehrbauer for sharing these photos of their grandmother and mother respectively.
