Special Occasion Photography
Special Occasion Photography is defined as, but not limited, to: posed portraits for wedding, family, engagement, proposal, graduation, prom, anniversary, birthday, blog, content creation, quinceañera, gender reveal, etc., photography. These portraits involve the multiple takes of a photoshoot. Permits are required for Special Occasion Photographs.
Permits for special occasion photography are handled by the Yonkers Parks Department. You can reach the Parks Department during regular business hours at (914) 377-6450. After making arrangements to book a time for your permit, you will pick up your permit at the Yonkers Parks Department at 285 Nepperhan Ave, Yonkers, NY. Only the City of Yonkers can issue permits for this site.

Confetti, balloons, flower petals (both real and fake), large props, rice or birdseed are not allowed.
Amateur photography does not require a permit and is defined as the taking of only 2-3 casual snapshots at any location which in no way interferes with the flow of visitors in the garden. No lights, accessories or tripods are allowed with amateur photography. Taking amateur nature photographs is permissible.
The City of Yonkers reserves the right to determine what constitutes Special Occasion Photography
and will curtail sessions that do not fit the guidelines noted above.
