Thanks to the above, we have been able to run in the black to the tune of six figures every year since our inception in 2011. I am pleased to report that we anticipate undertaking three critical capital projects in the next year: a mile-long deer fence, restoration of the Temple of Love, and refurbishing the four rivers in the Walled Garden. We also intend to hire a fourth horticulturist.
Our message seems to be getting across. Our website hits are up 1327% in the last two years. Our donor base rose 652% in three years. Visitation is hard to quantify (as there is no one at the door), but we know that we have gone through nearly 20,000 brochures in the last year; volunteer docents gave more than 50 private and public tours, and the parking lot is often full.
You can expect us to broaden the international theme of the garden next year, for we see it as a garden for all people. It is a healing and comforting place with a spiritual message.
