Dear Friends of Untermyer Gardens,

My Aunt Elizabeth in Michigan liked to sing us a ditty when we were children, “You’re Always Behind, Just Like an Old Cow’s Tail.” We often put off doing things, which prompted her teasing reminder not to wait any longer.
It is that time of year when we remember with gratitude those things that lifted our spirits, and this year we needed them more than ever. The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy has done its very best to reach out to our many friends and to welcome you safely to this beautiful haven as balm for the soul.

Many of you have already donated this year, and we thank you so much for your generosity. Happily, it is not too late to make your year-end contribution to help us usher in a transformational 2021.

The year 2020 will go down in the record books as one of the most challenging in decades. Yet amid many constraints, the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy has worked relentlessly to help the garden flourish. Our success is made possible by generous friends like you, who share our commitment to this very special place. Please consider a gift to our annual appeal if you can, and help us end the year on a positive note.

Though our operating budget was reduced by a third, and our team of gardeners frozen at six instead of eight, they maintained the garden at an exceptionally high standard and enhanced it greatly.

Our dedicated gardeners planted thousands of donated plants to complete the new 450-foot Rock and Stream Garden.
