Dear Friends of Untermyer Gardens,
As we enter a new year, we are undertaking projects anew.
The gardeners have been grubbing out the site of the future stumpery. Located near the newly restored circular fountain in the southwest quadrant, at the lower switchback of the carriage trail, it is a tangle of wild wisteria and other invasive plants. I call it our last frontier. The land forms an enchanting natural bowl where we have randomly dumped tree stumps over the past few years. Now that it is being cleaned up, we can see more clearly its potential. Where shall we find room for paths, stone cairns, giant stumps, and log tunnels? The fun begins!
