I am pleased to report that the Conservancy has hired Cathy Michelsen to assist me on development matters. She brings impressive experience to this job, having worked for a number of well-respected nonprofits in New York City.
Since we aren't swimming in fabulous garden photos yet, I thought that I would offer the first of an occasional Before and After comparison of certain parts of the garden. Here you can see the Vista, before we began work in 2011 and again in 2017.

Just so I may exorcise the menace of extreme weather, I want to publish an ominous photo taken by our gardener Jessica Norman on the day of the massive rainfall two weeks ago. We thankfully escaped significant damage in the garden, but look at the cataracts that erupted briefly in the Palisades. A real first --almost Jurassic-- something we've never seen before.
Last year we welcomed four new members to our Board: Richard Greco, Jr., of Yonkers, Batya Gorin of Mamaroneck, Lee Michel of the Bronx, and Denise Santomero of Bedford. We look forward to their energy and insight.
