Run - don't walk - to Untermyer Gardens to see them at their peak. The canal beds are looking sumptuous with their varied foliage, especially the elephant ears. Even the planters flanking the amphitheater sparkle with the leaves' subtly contrasting colors.

For me, the revelation this summer is the over-the-top aquatics. It's hard to do them justice in a photograph, as the spray and splash of water make for a truly sensual experience. Each clump is a work of art in itself, well worth savoring.
Bill Cary, from Westchester's Journal News, has been an avid friend of Untermyer, and he wrote an especially fine article about the gardens recently. In addition, we expect major national media coverage in the fall ... stay tuned.
Another treat is the intertwining of three vines on the wall in the southwest corner of the Walled Garden. One of them is called Fenway Park, as it was discovered growing at Boston's venerable ballpark.
