The 2024 Minnie Untermyer Concert Series
The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy announces its fourth annual Minnie Untermyer Concert Series. Taking place from June 8 to September 15, 2024, in the amphitheater in the magnificent Walled Garden and overlooking the length of this monumental Indo-Persian space, nine concerts have been scheduled. There will be orchestral and vocal music as well as dance performances. Popular offerings will include jazz and theremin.

PERSIAN SABA ENSEMBLE - JUNE 8 ***RAIN DATE Sunday, June 9 at 5:00 PM***
Persian classical music in the open-air amphitheater at Untermyer Gardens, in this first performance of the 2024 Minnie Untermyer Series. Founded in 2004, the Saba Ensemble is devoted to preserving and nurturing the exquisite art of Persian Classical Music.
This year's performance offers a variety of stage presentations, styles and vocals from Iran as a rich cultural and musical country. The performance of Persian classical schemes in Chaharghah and Shur with derivatives will include diverse and upbeat pieces in Azari, Kurdis and folkloric styles. The noted singer, Katayoon Moosazadeh, and Majid Shahi will perform on vocals along with the other five members of the ensemble: Arieh Aghajani - Santoor, Parisa Karimi - kamancheh, Shahryar Korrori - Tombak & Daf, Hamid Reza Maleki - oud, Hedayat Shafeei – Tar and Setar. We'll also be treated to the fine dancing of Leila Montazemi.
The audience will be transported to a world of intricate melodies and rhythms, where the timeless beauty of Persian music will be on full display. All sales are final.
During the intermission, patrons can indulge in the flavors of Persia with delicious treats available for purchase (advance purchase or cash sales only). Asrooneh plate (watermelon, feta cheese, herbs, bread, & walnuts) with a drink $10; Scoop of Persian ice cream $6
