How can I get a permit for photography? For more information about having your wedding in the gardens, please visit our Weddings page. Are pets allowed? Dogs are not allowed in the gardens with the exception of service dogs (as defined by the ADA) which are always welcome. Please remember that the ADA definition of service animal is an animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. This definition does not include comfort or emotional support dogs. Is the garden accessible? Untermyer Park and Gardens is owned by the City of Yonkers. There are two designated parking spaces available next to the Cola Community Center. The path leading to the Walled Garden, and the paths within the Walled Garden are flat and covered with fine gravel. The restrooms are multiuser and both have one handicapped stall. There is a small step up to enter the restrooms. What are the hours? The Gardens are open from 9AM until 4PM beginning Friday, January 8, 2020. Entry and exit will take place only from the main gate and masks are required. Please follow the signage for one-way circulation through the garden, which helps to promote social distancing. No timed entry tickets are needed. During the winter, in icy conditions, the gardens will be closed. There is no entry fee for the gardens. Untermyer Park and Gardens is open seven days a week, from 9am until 4pm. Please visit our Hours and Directions page for more information. Visitors must wear masks. The gardens are closed on winter holidays until the end of March: Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and President's Day. On Christmas and New Year's Day the gardens will open for the Illumination at 4:30PM. If the grounds are icy, the gardens will be closed. Where are the gardens? Untermyer Park and Gardens are located at 945 North Broadway, Yonkers, NY. For directions to the gardens via car or public transit, please see our Visit page. How much does it cost to get in to the gardens? There is no fee for entry. Untermyer Park and Gardens is part of the Yonkers parks system. Is there a place to eat in the gardens? There are a limited number of picnic tables near the Cola Community Center. There is no place in the garden to purchase food or beverages. How can I/my group take a tour of the gardens? Please visit our Tours Page for information about public tours or booking a tour for a group. What is this summer's UPAC concert schedule? The Untermyer Performing Arts Council's concert schedule will be on their website when it becomes available. The free concerts generally start in late June, run until Labor Day and happen on Saturday evenings at 7:30 on the lawn by the Walled Garden. Due to Covid-19, the concerts have a capacity of 50 people and are by reservation only. For reservations, call 914 375-3435 after 11AM on the Tuesday before the concert. All concert-goers must wear masks. In bad weather the concert will be cancelled: for information, call UPAC at 914 375-3435 after 2:00PM on the day of the concert.
