Yiddish Folk Songs with Eléonore Biezunski & Friends, September 10
Sunday, September 10 at 5:00 PM. Immerse yourself in the the lively energy of klezmer music and Yiddish songs at the Untermyer Gardens Amphitheater, with the award-winning Parisian musician Eléonore Biezunski. This performance will feature original compositions and archival gems that will transport you to a bygone era of Eastern European Jewish culture. Eleonore Biezunski, on violin and vocals, will be joined by Christina Crowder on accordion, Keryn Kleiman on violin, and Ilya Shneyveys on bass, baglama, and percussions.
Biezunski has performed extensively in NYC, including at the Folk Art Museum, New York Jewish Music Festival and Eldridge Street Synagogue. An avid collector of Yiddish music, she has also published several academic articles about Yiddish music and Yiddish theater.
RAIN OR SHINE: In case of inclement weather, the performance will move indoors to the Community Room of the Cola Center at Untermyer Park and Gardens.
