Please be respectful of the Garden Rules so everyone can enjoy the garden. Hours: Open daily at 9:00 AM, seven days a week. Last entry one half-hour before closing, which varies seasonally: May 1 - September 15 7:00 PM September 16 - November 2 6:00 PM November 2 - March 9 4:30 PM March 10 - April 30 6:00 PM Grand Holiday Illumination: The 2025 Grand Holiday Illumination runs from December 6 through January 4, free to the public with NO RESERVATIONS required. The Illumination IS OPEN Christmas and New Year's Day. WE LOVE DOGS, BUT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE GARDEN. No pets or emotional support animals allowed. Service animals are welcome. Bring Water: During the warm summer months, we encourage visitors to bring water in reusable bottles. There are no onsite food or beverage sales, but there is a water fountain inside the entrance to the Walled Garden. Holiday Hours and other closures: The garden is OPEN Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. The gardens are open on major holidays from April until October. The gardens are closed on major holidays from November until the end of March except for the Grand Holiday Illumination. The gardens is CLOSED on Thanksgiving, Christmas (The Walled Garden opens at 4:30pm), New Year's Day (The Walled Garden opens at 4:30pm), Martin Luther King, Jr. and President's Day. During the winter, in icy conditions, the gardens will be closed. Reservations and Fees: There is no admission fee for the garden. No advance reservations are necessary, except that tour groups of 20 or more people must file for a permit with the Yonkers Parks Department. Please email Katie Trojanowski with the Yonkers Parks Department, at [email protected] to arrange for a permit. Tour buses may not enter the driveway. Groups of visitors of 20 or more people must get a permit from the City of Yonkers Parks Department: call 914-377-6450 during regular business hours. Garden Rules: Please see the Garden Rules web page for a list of garden rules. No Food: No picnicking, except at the designated picnic area outside the Walled Garden. No blankets on the lawns within the garden fencing. Tours: We offer guided tours of the gardens from April through October. Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities: Untermyer Park and Gardens is owned by the City of Yonkers. There are four designated parking spaces available next to the Cola Community Center. The path leading to the Walled Garden, and the paths within the Walled Garden are flat and covered with stone dust. There are accessibility ramps within the Walled Garden for access to the Amphitheater and on the Lower Terrace for access to the Vista Entrance. The restrooms are multiuser and both have one handicapped stall. |
