Looking at Nature with Pencil and Paper - July 31
Sunday, July 31 at 10:00 AM
This 60-minute walking and sketching tour in the Walled Garden for kids and families will help your child open their “artist’s eye” and see the different shapes and details in the trees and plants in the garden. Kids will learn how to quickly sketch the trees they see in nature, starting with a basic shape (circle, triangle) and then adding details such as the trunk, branches, and shading. The goal is non-competitive fun!
We will provide pencil and paper but encourage you to bring your sketchpad if you have started one.
Ann Ladd is a White Plains artist who teaches children drawing, painting, and recycled art at The Rye Art Center. Ann is a volunteer at Untermyer Gardens who leads Adventure Tours when she’s not teaching art, kayaking with Yonkers YPRC on the Hudson River, or gardening.
