Armen Ra, Thereminist
POSTPONED TO THE RAIN DATE, September 8
ARMEN RA, THEREMINIST ***RAIN DATE SEPTEMBER 8***
Persian/Armenian Artist Armen Ra performs classical Arias and standards on the theremin.
Persian/Armenian Artist Armen Ra is hailed as one of the best thereminists in the world, and the highest paid theremin artist in history. Ra started his musical journey in 2001 and has performed all over the US and Europe at venues including MOMA NYC, Lincoln Center, Disney Concert Hall LA, Villa Petriolo Florence, Musé Rodin Paris (for The Dior Haute Couture ball,) the Broad Museum, and countless private events throughout the world.
One of New York's leading aesthetes, Ra is a self-taught master of the theremin - the only instrument created in the 20th Century and held by many professional musicians to be the most difficult instrument to learn. By fusing both the visual and aural aspects of his craft, Armen Ra has developed an art form that is truly his own and is something quite amazing to behold.
Ra has several Theremin albums available on all platforms. An award winning documentary titled “When My Sorrow Died: The Legend of Armen Ra and the Theremin" was released in 2015. The documentary is available on his YouTube page along with Theremin videos and concert footage.
All sales are final.
Due to the prediction for rain in the afternoon and the complexities of concert setup, the ARMEN RA, THEREMINIST performance in the Untermyer Gardens Amphitheater is POSTPONED until the scheduled rain date, Sunday, September 8 at 8:00 PM.
We look forward to seeing you Sunday night!
